Christy's First-Time Nudist Experience
|
| At the college I teach, there is a place way back in the woods where you can go skinny dipping at night, but there is absolutly no one there during the day. Well, some friends and I went back there after class one day to do some sunning. We had been there a little while when one of my friends suggested the we go swimming. This was ok with everyone because it was very hot, so we got up and headed toward the water when one of the girls started to strip.
She explained that she refused to wear a bathing suit when it was not neccessary and that we should join her. After some serious thinking I removed my bathing suit and went into the water. We swam for a while and I have never felt better, so when we got out a streak of daring hit me and I thought, "What the hell, I'll just stay this way and get rid of these tan lines." The others followed suit, and we were naked there beside that creek for about 6 hours that day.
We all enjoyed this so much we have continued these day trips to the creek, and we decided to go to a nudist resort to see if we would like it there as much as we do in the woods. We have not been yet but a trip report will be coming.

Michael & Jane's First-Time Nudist Experience
|
| My first time was several years ago when my wife and I were visiting the San Francisco area. While we were in town we bought a tour book to help us see the sights and found mention of some nude beaches. After much pushing on my part, my wife finally agreed to visit a beach in Marin County.
During the walk from the parking lot I felt as thrilled to be visiting as she did apprehensive. When we got to the nudist beach, sure enough there were nude people all over the place. We found an empty spot and spread out our blanket.
Being newbies to this, we weren't sure how to proceed. I also didn't want to rush her and make her feel more uncomfortable. I decided to take my time undressing, trying to be cool and not show how thrilled I was to be really here. We both took off shoes which was was no big deal of course. Then I took off my shirt and was taking my time folding it when I looked in my wife's direction and was surprised to see that she was also topless.
I didn't know what to say. After all, what does one say when something that you have wanted for a long time suddenly was happening. Well, just like that, my wife was totally nude. She beat me to it. Of course, I quickly followed. As the day went along, I realized that my wife was also enjoying this first trip to a nude beach. She even started a conversation with a couple on the next blanket over. After some conversation, the man suggested that my wife be cautious and apply sunblock to places that aren't used to the sun. She kind of blushed when she realized that he was talking about her untanned breasts.
We visited other nudist beaches from time to time, but it was never as thrilling as that first time. I think it was her most enjoyable social nude experience, as well.

Naturism Encourages Mutual Respect
|
Naturism is characterized by the practice of communal nudity. Nudity is seen by most people as being the most obvious aspect of naturism. While it is true that nudity is central to naturism, it is also a means of encouraging self-respect, respect for others, and for the environment. To approach another person completely naked is an act of trust. You are saying, in effect, "Here I am, completely unpretentious, with all my physical imperfections on view. Accept me for what I am, and I will accept you as you are. What you see is the whole "me" as I really am." Such an attitude can only engender mutual respect.
You feel really close to nature when you discard your clothes and feel warm sunshine, fresh air or cool water on the whole of your body. Being naked outdoors gives you a great sense of freedom.
Being naked in the presence of others is a pleasurable experience, but it is pleasure in the nicest sense of the word. It is very relaxing and enjoyable. You won't find naturists nervously leering at each other - they are open and trusting of each other, accepting each other's imperfections, and respecting each other's personalities.
Clothes restrict the flow of air over the skin and prevent the evaporation of perspiration. Clothes encourage the proliferation of bacteria and microscopic fungi, especially in humid and warm conditions. They interfere with the body's natural temperature control mechanisms, making some parts hotter than others. Naked people rarely smell bad, but sweaty clothes do. Tight shorts and trousers, raise the temperature of the testicles in the male, thus interfering with the development of sperm and male hormones and reducing fertility. Nakedness is the human animal's natural condition and contributes to physical and emotional health.
A most important aspect of naturism is its educational effect on growing children. In the clothed world, where everyone goes to great lengths to hide their "private parts", children become ashamed of their own bodies and curious about the bodies of others, especially of the opposite sex. Sex becomes "forbidden fruit", and this leads to unnaturally intense curiosity and often undesirable behavior. In the naturist setting, naked bodies are no big deal. There is no prurient curiosity; no need to be ashamed of one's own body since others are obviously developing in the same way. Adolescents can see exactly how their bodies are going to change as they grow older. It would be extremely unlikely for a person who has been raised in a naturist family to become a sexual deviant or pedophile. The practice of naturism automatically engenders a healthy attitude towards people of the opposite sex. They are seen as whole personalities, and not merely as sex-objects.
